Engineered wood flooring is a more than viable alternative to solid hardwood flooring, they are far more stable and offer more flexibility when it comes to installation. 

Engineered wood floors are made up of a top layer of a real hardwood species and a core, typically consisting of multiple plywood layers laminated together to form a durable plank. The build up of the layers is designed to counteract the natural tendency of hardwoods to expand, contract, warp, or cup when exposed to different environmental factors.

Chevron flooring, sometimes called French Herringbone, is a pattern commonly used with parquet boards. Chevron flooring is supplied pre-cut at a 45 degree angle and tongue and grooved on the long side of the boards to create a 'V' shape pattern.
